Getting To Know You Shoot
I first photographed Jen and Jamie on their ‘Getting to know you’ shoot at Basingwerk Abbey with their two children, Ollie and Phoebe. My pre-wedding shoot always gives me quality time with my couple, and I can see how comfortable they are in front of the camera and I look at body language too. Jen and Jamie were absolute naturals and their children were phenomenal! We had a blast amongst the ruins.
Pre-Wedding Meeting
I met up with Jen and Jamie to run through all the finer details of the day. We discussed timings, locations, logistics and set group shots. I also asked Jen to send me Pinterest ideas of any shots she would specifically like.
The wedding Day
So, the big day arrived, and James, videographer, and I arrived at The Kinmel & KinSpa. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining. Hair and makeup were in full swing, and the fizz was flowing! James and I love bridal preparation. It is such a lovely part of the day, we get to photograph all the stunning dresses, jewellery, shoes (on this day Jimmy Choos) and accessories as well as the transformation of the excited bridal party.
Once the girls were ready, we headed off to the church in Prestatyn to meet Jamie, Ollie and the boys. It is a great time to grab a few shots of the nervous groom and his party before the bride’s arrival. It is also a good opportunity for me to help with buttonholes and last-minute questions.
Jen arrived in a vintage car and after a few snaps outside the church made her way up the aisle supported by her Dad. Prestatyn church has one of the nicest vicars I have ever met! He is just lovely and makes everyone feel at ease.
Following the service, we all headed back to The Kinmel for canapes and we went to the field next to the venue for snaps. Time was moving fast so after a handful of group shots the wedding party went in for the breakfast. The speeches – what can I say? The pictures speak for themselves…..
We walked back to the field for a little bit of smoke bomb fun as the magician entertained the guests! Following the cake cutting Jen and Jamie had their first dance and the guests boogied the night away to the band. All in all, a superb wedding with one of the nicest families I have ever had the privilege to photograph. I adored the children who were great sports on the day and took it all in their stride!
This is just a tester of the day, the images speak for themselves….
